On September 5th, Japan's biggest fashion event ‘TGC (Tokyo Girls Collection)' was held. KAT-TUN member Akanishi Jin appeared as a surprise guest. Together with director Kobayashi Takeshi he promoted the new movie ‘BANDAGE', set to premiere next year in January.

Akanishi walked onto the stage near the end of the show. The large screen inside the venue showed the ‘BANDAGE' movie trailer and video footage of the ongoing filming. Immediately after that Akanishi appeared, and screams of adoration went up from the crowds. He was wearing a black hat, white T-shirt, checkered vest and 3/4 length damaged jeans, which was his usual ‘Jin style' often seen during concerts. But judging from the tattoo sticker on his left ring finger, he was actually appearing as Natsu, his character in the movie who is the vocalist of a rock band called LANDS.

Even though his appearance was supposed to have been a ‘surprise', there had already been comments posted on the internet predicting that Akanishi will be a secret guest for TGC. Among the audience one could see a few fans waving uchiwa [hand-held fans] just like in KAT-TUN concerts. Fans had mostly been concerned about what would happen between Akanishi and the model Nishiyama Maki, who was also attending the fashion show. The two had once been caught dating by paparazzi. But despite fears the two never made direct contact onstage.

Rumors aside, the film ‘BANDAGE' will be Akanishi's first lead role in a movie. When the film starts showing in theaters next year in January, fans are bound to be interested in Akanishi's performance as a lead vocalist for a rock band.
